It was supposed to be a day of “Go Fast Turn Left”. It turned out to be a day of “Turn Left. NOW RIGHT! LEFT! RIGHT! LEEEFFFTTT!!!”. Sally was again loose. We changed the setup as much as we could. Finally in the 3rd practice, we had an OK setup with the tires and Is took a little higher line to help tighten her up. This was the “Mini Compact Outlaw” race. Most drivers ran smaller, racing tires. Is decided to stick with his normal DCS setup, knowing he wouldn’t be as fast as the other guys, but we were just hoping to get the points for the day and test see if we had fixed that overheating problem that’s plagued us for almost all season. There were no heat races. Just a couple trophy dashes and 2 mains. We were in the B Main. The top 4 would transfer to the A Main. Is started 6th and felt pretty confident that he’d finish in the top 4 and maybe even win the event. A couple laps in, Is got caught up in someone else’s mess. Minor body damage. He hit the pits to have Moose take a look and see if anything was damaged too much. It wasn’t that bad so he sent Is back on the track. A couple laps later, Sally was overheating again so Is hit the pits and called it a day. The DCS drivers all got the same amount of points no matter where they finished so there was no point in taking the chance of doing more damage to the car. Moose, K-Dawg and Is will do some more work on Sally and see if we can’t figure out what’s going on. Next race is only a week away!
